Is breakfast included?

No, however both the carriage and chalet are set up for self catering.

What appliances do the kitchens contain?

An electric cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle and small fridge. There are BBQs on the balconies. All crockery, glassware, pots and pans are provided.

Is there wifi?

Yes! Starlink is provided to all guests.

How long will it take to get here?

We are a 45 min drive from Brisbane CBD.

Is there an inside bathroom?

Yes, both the carriage and chalet have an ensuite with a shower, hand basin and toilet.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, we only accept assistance animals (official paperwork is to be provided prior to check in please).

Do you provide coffee and tea?

Yes, you will find a starter pack in your accommodation.

How many people can stay?

The carriage and chalet both have a queen bed, sleeping two. The chalet does have a single sofa bed available for an extra adult or if two guests prefer to sleep separately, for an extra fee.

Are children allowed?

Unfortunately, we are not suitable for children.

Is there undercover parking?

The Railway Carriage has undercover parking.
The Chalet does not have undercover parking.

How close is the parking?

Parking is right outside the accommodation.

Are candles allowed?

Due to safety concerns, we do not allow candles. If the carriage burns down it can never be replaced.

How far is it to the National Parks for bushwalking?

Boombana National Park is right next door! Many other parks are within an easy drive.

 Is there a fireplace?

No inside fires, due to safety. Outdoor fires are available, weather permitting.

What do guests need to bring?

Guests will need to bring their meals and toiletries. 

Is self check-in available?

Yes, we can leave a key out if guests are arriving late. We’re available during the day to check guests in and show you around.

Where are the nearest shops and cafés?

Café in the Mountains is located right next door to us. There are no other shops or petrol stations on the mountain. The closest are located at Samford and The Gap, both a 30 minute drive. Cafés are located at Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious, 5 to 15 minutes to drive.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refunds are available if bookings are cancelled up to 14 days prior to arrival date. No refund if cancelled under 14 days.

Do you cater for people who are blind or have low vision? 

Yes, absolutely. We recommend The Chalet for a more comfortable accommodation experience. Whilst we don’t have braille, we welcome you to reach out to us with any specific requirements and we’ll be happy to make the necessary arrangements to enhance your stay. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.

Do you cater for people who are deaf or have low hearing?

Yes, absolutely. We are committed to providing inclusive accommodation for individuals who are deaf or have low hearing. Our staff are trained to assist and ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. If you have specific requirements or need additional assistance, please feel free to communicate them with us, and we can discuss arrangements to enhance your stay.

Do you cater for people with limited mobility?

The Railway Carriage accommodation is very much in its original style which means narrow doors and entryways. It could accommodate walkers, and there is a grab rail for the entry door and a grab rail in the bathroom.
The Chalet is more suitable accommodation for people with limited mobility.

Do you cater for people who people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters 

Depending on your requirements, our property is going to be tricky for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
The pathways to the Cafe will be ok to navigate, however, around our property is hilly and tricky to navigate with a wheelchair or mobility scooter.

Do you cater for people that require low sensory activities?

Yes, we do. We understand the importance of providing a comfortable and inclusive environment for all our guests, including those who may benefit from low sensory activities. Our peaceful mountain retreat accommodation is designed to offer a serene and sensory-friendly experience.

Do you cater for people with cognitive disabilities or people on the Autism Spectrum?

Our guests often comment on how quiet our property is. We have so much wildlife around, in the morning the birds will most often wake you with their calls and the frogs love to talk to each other.
We are happy to accommodate any needs that you may have to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Have any of the staff undergone disability awareness training?

Yes – Renee & Glenn (the owners) have undergone a course in disability with Spinal Life Australia.

Do you provide assistance for individuals whose primary language is not English?

While we do not have a dedicated translator, we are more than happy to accommodate anyone whose primary language is not English. Our friendly staff will do their best to assist you and ensure that your stay is enjoyable and comfortable.

What accommodation option would be the most accessible friendly?

We recommend our Chalet. We are more than happy to help in any way that we can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Do you cater for people with specific dietary requirements and food allergies or intolerances? 

Cafe in the Mountains (next door) caters for food intolerances.
Both the accommodations have kitchenettes, so you are welcome to cook up a storm that suits your dietary requirements. The accommodations have BBQ, cooktop, kettle & toaster, and microwave (no oven).
Please note that our property is run off tank water so we love to conserve our water. Guests often comment on how soft the water is and how delicious fresh rainwater tastes. However, if you are super sensitive to changes in your diet – then you are most welcome to bring bottled water.

Can you accommodate for assistance animals? 

Yes, we are happy to accommodate assistance animals.

Do you provide a secure area with shade and water for service animals? 

Yes, we offer shaded areas outside for service animals. Additionally, our chalet features a veranda with a concrete surface, providing a secure and comfortable space.

Do you have a reception/public entryway? 

We offer a hassle-free self-check-in process that is pre-arranged before your arrival. While we’re here 90% of the time and personally meet our guests, rest assured that we are always available to address any of your needs.
As the owners reside on the property, we’re readily accessible. Upon your arrival, we’ll provide you with a warm welcome and run you through all the essential details, including suggestions for things to do in the area.
